Unfortunately the foxes have arrived on Big Bear.
A few months ago a bigger property down the road from us was sold. It was wooded acreage that had been left alone for many years.
The new owners cleared it and leveled the land to build on.
A lot of wildlife got displaced including a bunch of foxes.
Apparently they found a new home here on Big Bear and have been killing a lot of our chickens.
Here you can see Kristin during one of the steps of Operation Defox.
Keeping the grass low will help us see them as they will be more exposed.
We also expanded the chicken wire fencing.
We found 3 foxholes that look active on the lower part of the land.
The foxes did not get any of our previous warnings and don’t seem to be satisfied with the abundance of rabbits and other field rodents.
So Noah and I will be out there tonight, locked and loaded.

I make lots of fermented foods like gluten free sourdough bread & treats, kombucha, sauerkraut and other veggies. I found a fermented Cashew Cheese at the health food store (cuz I'm dairy free too), but man-o- man, was it spendy. So what did I do? Found a recipe and I've been making my own for well about 2 years now.
It's so freaking yummy and easy to make. I've taught my daughter, sister and nieces how to replicate this delight that I would be more than happy to share the recipe if anyone is interested. Hit me up in the comments....
Fermented foods are so good for gut health and the fermentation process adds a plethora of extra added nutritions to your food. Plus, if you're a gardener, it's a super fun and easy way to preserve the harvest.

it's always quite interesting to see how one and the same piece of information/video/article can cause an incredibly variety of reactions. From "blessed and inspired" to "this is fear mongering of the worst kind".
They saw the same piece on information delivered/written by the same person. So is it the information itself or is it something else that determines how we react?
