I've been reflecting on my journey in the past few days.
As always, when in "nature", things become very clear and transparent.
The truth is - they were all "hard-asses" and I wouldn't have it any other way.

When Words Turn
Candles glow in window light,
Snow falls soft, the world feels kind,
We sing the songs we learned by heart,
Never asking where they start.
Wrapped in bells and lullabies,
Truth sleeps softly in disguise,
Every word feels warm and safe,
Till you feel the shift in weight.
They taught us faith was something pure,
Never taught us how words bend and lure.
Be-lie-f… whispered like a prayer,
A truth wrapped gently in thin air,
Christmas sings of holy bliss,
But sounds a lot like Christ-mess.
Nothing loud, nothing mean,
Just meanings slipping in between,
If words can twist, if letters play,
What else have we learned this way?
Red and gold, a smiling face,
Promises of earned embrace,
“Be good now, child, don’t ask why,”
Someone’s always watching from the sky.
A gift for those who don’t resist,
A list, a judge, a gentle fist,
Rearrange what you were told,
Watch the story start to fold.

Back home to Arkansas in time for our family Christmas. A few couldn’t show up, but we still had a good family gathering.
Friends,
it's always quite interesting to see how one and the same piece of information/video/article can cause an incredibly variety of reactions. From "blessed and inspired" to "this is fear mongering of the worst kind".
They saw the same piece on information delivered/written by the same person. So is it the information itself or is it something else that determines how we react?
