Yesterday I was shortly watching some of the movie "Downsizing" from 2017. And like every time I see a movie, I trying to see behinde the scenes. So after Jean's talk on YT and here today, I went into chatgpt and this is what it came out with.
“Downsizing” Wasn’t Just a Movie — It Was a Mirror
When Downsizing was released in 2017, it looked like a quirky sci-fi comedy. A story about people shrinking themselves to reduce their footprint on Earth. Harmless, even humorous.
But look closer. Beneath the satire is a sobering truth: how easy it is to convince humanity to surrender freedom, dignity, and even identity — if the “solution” is wrapped in promises of safety, progress, and a better world.
People in the film accept an irreversible experiment because they are told it will save the planet and improve their lives. They move into a manufactured paradise, thinking they’ve chosen freedom, when in fact they’ve walked willingly into control.
Two years later, the world was shaken by covid. And ...

it's always quite interesting to see how one and the same piece of information/video/article can cause an incredibly variety of reactions. From "blessed and inspired" to "this is fear mongering of the worst kind".
They saw the same piece on information delivered/written by the same person. So is it the information itself or is it something else that determines how we react?
