The Root of Longing

Beneath the smoke, beneath the sky.
A child still waits, with silent cry.

Addictions bloom like shadowed trees.
Yet all they echo is this: please.

Not power, not the fleeting high,
not endless ways to pacify.
But touch, and love, a hand to hold,
the warmth we sought when we were cold.

To be seen with eyes that truly know.
To choose our Yes, our NO and grow.

For freedom blooms where trust is near.
And every voice is safe to hear.

So lay the burdens, one by one,
let shadows fade into the sun.

For every hunger finds its start,
in the simple longing of the heart ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥
