I refuse to play “victim”.
Earlier this year we got 4 kill pen slaughter pipeline horses, bought in Steoud Oklahoma and shipped to us in Arkansas.
One arrived down in the trailer and lived only 13 hours. He was Atlas, 18 hand strong Belgian draft when I saw him a week earlier.
I Feb 2026, three more kill pen rescues were delivered to our ranch and my and I bought over 70 years old, worked getting pens, shelter and hay in place.
Our vet came out and said the baby “CHICKADEE” had heart problems and other problems that putting him down was the kindness thing for him and us. We scheduled euthanasia for noon the nest day. I sat next to him in his stall as he could not get up, played my guitar and his Spirit told me he wanted to live.
So we gave all we could to helping him and today Chick is healthily, happy and beautiful.
The other two, a big Draft mare and a young mare Mustang are doing well, but also thousands of dollars for vet and meds and that hit us hard. But no regrets.
So, we decided to start a nonprofit and already getting soooo much support and donations coming in.
I am building the website myself, about to add videos and other projects we have launched, but please check it out.

Oh, yeah with a reach emergency back surgery, A-fib discovered and another heart procedure for that and now I have a total hip replacement surgery on August 25th. I am doing good, even if I am using a walker or cane to get around.
Nature, creative music projects and the horses are my medicine.
I love you all.
